An important step for the drone industry in Greece
Drops Smart Hubs in collaboration with PROBOTEK, which is its first partner operator, announced the successful acquisition of the first “Beyond Line of Sight” (BVLOS) license in Greece. The BVLOS license, granted by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), is particularly important for the drone industry as it expands their operational capabilities and applications, allowing for longer range flights, increased performance and improved safety. With permission beyond line of sight (BVLOS) it is possible to carry out long-distance autonomous flights such as delivery of essential goods and services to remote areas that are difficult to access. This includes medical supplies, food and even internet access. These flights are monitored remotely by electronic means by pilots who can take control of the aircraft in case of need. THE Drops Smart Hubs creates a new dynamic market by uniting drone operators with B2B and B2G stakeholders in an interoperable and secure environment. The company’s goal is to create an integrated network of strategically located drone bases enabling the interconnection of the drone industry with an innovative service business model “Go to Service”. Drops Smart Hubs is an aggregator that brings these two sides together. At the bases of Drops Smart Hubs, companies wishing to offer drone services will meet drone operators who can serve any process need requested. As stated in the announcement, Drops Smart Hubs contributed to the necessary approval of this ground-breaking license for the BVLOS operations of the operator PROBOTEK, which is a milestone for the country’s drone industry. The Drops Smart Hubs team consists of experienced market executives whose know-how complement each other so that the implementation of such a difficult undertaking comes to fruition. PROBOTEK is the first cooperating operator of Drops Smart Hubs and the two companies cooperate strategically. Ms Franciska TsiouchiouCo-founder & CEO of Drops Smart Hubs, said: “At Drops Smart Hubs, we are proud to be at the forefront of the revolution in the drone industry in Greece, creating a strong network infrastructure that connects remote areas. Our mission is to bridge the gap between technology and accessibility, unlocking new possibilities for industries, communities and individuals. We are working closely with regulators, stakeholders and local communities to create a safe and sustainable ecosystem for drone operations.” Drops Smart Hubs extends an invitation to drone operators, urging them to seize this remarkable opportunity and together shape a future where drones play a critical role in transforming services and improving people’s lives on a global scale.
